Receptive & Expressive Language
Receptive language is the ability to understand and comprehend spoken language. It effects your child’s ability to listen and follow directions. Expressive language is the ability to request objects, make choices, ask questions, answer and describe events through speaking, gesturing, signing, facial expressions, and vocalizations.
Articulation & Phonological Disorders
Refers to the way sound is produced. Your child may have difficulty forming particular speech sounds or may use the sound in the wrong position in a words. They also may have decreased intelligibility in connected speech.
Phonological Awareness
Refers to the awareness and ability to work with sounds in spoken language. It sets the stage for decoding, blending and ultimately word reading- a reliable predictor of later reading ability.
Language-Based Literacy Disorders
Refers to problem with age-appropriate reading, spelling, and/or writing. Your child might have difficulty following directions, understanding questions and retaining the details of a story, learning words to songs and rhymes and identifying the sounds that correspond to letters
Pragmatic Language (Social Skills)
Refers to the use of appropriate communication in social situations- knowing what to say, how to say it and when to say it. This includes conversational skills, non verbal communication skills, non-literal language, problem solving, interpreting and expressing emotions.

No, we are private pay only at the moment. We accept cash, check and credit card (HSA cards are acceptable as well). We can also provide clients with a Superbill upon request to seek reimbursement from their insurance company.

Evaluations are typically 1-2 hours. Therapy sessions can be 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes long depending on child’s need.
